Benefits
Used for the treatment and prevention of gout, a condition caused by high uric acid levels in the blood. Helps reduce uric acid production, preventing crystal buildup in joints. Provides relief from pain, swelling, and redness in joints (especially big toe, ankles, and knees). Regular use lowers the risk of future gout attacks and joint damage.
Typical adult dose: 40 mg once daily, may increase to 80 mg if required. Can be taken with or without food. Take at the same time each day for consistent results. Continue use even after symptoms subside; stopping suddenly may cause a gout flare-up.
Common: Headache, nausea, mild rash, joint pain. Occasional: Diarrhea or elevated liver enzymes. Serious (rare): Chest pain, shortness of breath, or severe skin rash — seek immediate medical care.
Inform your doctor if you have heart disease or kidney problems. Avoid alcohol and high-purine foods (red meat, seafood) during treatment. Routine blood tests to monitor uric acid and liver function are recommended. Not for use during pregnancy unless advised by a healthcare professional.
