Benefits

Used for the treatment of viral infections such as herpes simplex, shingles (herpes zoster), and chickenpox. Helps reduce itching, burning, and pain from blister-like skin infections. Prevents recurrence of viral outbreaks and promotes faster healing. Shortens the duration and severity of infection.

Dosage

Typical adult dose: 400mg tablet 3–5 times daily for 5–10 days (as prescribed). Can be taken with or without food. Drink plenty of fluids during the course to prevent kidney strain. Do not skip doses or discontinue early without your doctor’s advice.

Side Effects

Common: Mild headache, nausea, fatigue. Occasional: Dizziness, diarrhea. Rare: Kidney-related symptoms (e.g., dark urine, back pain) — report immediately.
